This was the original theme of the first-ever MassKara Festival held seventeen yaers ago. Now, this theme has become the legend in the hearts of the Bacolenos. Itwas thru this festival that Bacolod earned it's title, THE CITY OF SMILES!.
But did you ever wonder how this festival of smiles start? Well, MassKara Festival, the annual festivity of the city of Bacolod, is a noted popular festival not only in the Philippines but also in the world today. This is a One-week celebration held every October Bacolod Charter day on the 19th. This festival features a one of a kind merrymaking of people with colorful handcrafted masks dancing and moving to the beat of the drums. MassKara boasts of everything Bacolod has offer, especially the the warm hospitaility of the people.
